WHY SHOULD CHILDREN LEARN YOGA??

WHY SHOULD CHILDREN LEARN YOGA??
“Yoga for Children is holistic and fun, with the aim of increasing the skills of focus, balance, mind full reflection, and mind/body awareness. The practice of simple postures, breathing exercises and mindfulness meditation techniques in a non competitive, nurturing environment instills confidence, self-regulation, and self-efficacy at the same time developing higher values like gratitude and optimism.”

Children who learn yoga early on are physically healthier and mentally better adjusted. Ideally, when children learn at a young age the benefit of a committed practice, it ripples out into their everyday life activities, relationships, and responsibilities.

The benefits of numerous.. Yoga ...
Increases Neuro-Muscular coordination,
Improves Cardio -Pulmonary fitness,
Enhances Neuro- Cognitive functions,
Refines Socio- Emotional behaviour,
Strengthens Immuno- endocrine system
Expands imagination and creativity
Improves balance and postural deformities
Develops discipline and self-control
Provides opportunities for reflection, patience and insight,
Reduces impulsive and reactive nature & promotes clam and relaxed mind.

Yoga trains to clear the mind and shut out distractions. Meditation is a technique used in some yoga styles to teach deep concentration. Practicing this skill set is an asset for students who are required to read, write, perform exams and complete practicums.
Yoga for children should be practiced in moderation and with safety precautions; it should be more fun, more interesting, more lively and less competitive.

Yoga is not a destination; rather it is a journey of a lifetime, which takes discipline.
of course in ancient days yoga was mainly taught to children in Gurukuls!
agree??
please share it or like it .. help us spread the awareness of yoga for children.
